During COVID-19 outbreak most of the countries around world based on China experience decide to close almost all usual social and cultural activities and isolate people in their homes. This so call corona quarantine bring together our families to spend time together like never before.

Our way of life usually mean that we are running everyday to work sometimes 10-12 hours a day , our kids beside the school and homework’s they usually have after school activities that range from various training’s to just playing games on the computers and mobile phones in their rooms.

We don’t need scientific studies ( though there are many ) to show the direct relationship between parents behavior and kids behavior and i think that in this scary days for all planet we have time as parents to spend some quality time with our kids and to establish communication, new love and habits that can lead to more healthy and happier life after the crises is finished.

We must remember that we as parents are the first heroes for our kids, they love us they learn from us, they copy us and especially the young ones like to be like us.

1.Published 2017 January 9 in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine

Researchers funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) collected data from more than one thousand low-income parent-child pairs. Each parent and child wore an accelerometer, a device that measures acceleration, for an average of 12 hours a day, for a week.

When parents spent up to 40 minutes on moderate to vigorous physical activity, so did their preschoolers. Likewise, the data showed, when the parents were sedentary, so were their children. Notably, this was the first study to link the physical activity of parents and young children by objectively measuring it with accelerometry for an extended period of time.

2. Effects of parental rearing patterns and their consistency on the emotional and behavioral problems of preschool children ( 2020 Mar 6 , PMID: 32187933 )

Objective: To explore the effect of parental rearing patterns and their consistency on the emotional and behavioral problems of preschool children. Methods: From October to November 2017, 27 987 children aged 3 to 6 years old from 109 kindergartens in 11 cities of Hubei, Anhui and Jiangsu Provinces were selected by using the cluster sampling method. A total of 27 200 valid questionnaires which were completed by subjects’ parents were collected.

Conclusions: Parental rearing patterns and their consistency are related to the emotional and behavioral problems of preschool children.

Final conclusion

We know that our kids will be ready to play with us and to learn from us through the games , but also to not forget that there is plenty of stuff especially when gadgets and computers are involve that we can learn from them. This is the time when we must connect further with our kids, this is the time for indoor games and parent-kids projects.

It’s up to us to choose to be scared and seat in front of TV waiting for latest corona virus news, or we can free ourselves and spend some quality times with our family and to become once again real HEROES
